Botox / Botulinum-toxin

Aesthetic surgeries produce lasting and important results in facial appearance. However, these surgeries require preoperative examinations, are invasive and have a relatively long recovery period. Many patients who are beginning to show signs of aging such as wrinkles in the front area, between the eyebrows or the «crow’s feet» want an aesthetic improvement but do not want to undergo a major surgical procedure nor have recovery time for surgery . For these patients there are minimally invasive alternatives such as Botulinum Toxin (Botox), which is a substance that is injected punctually in specific areas of the face to attenuate the lines of expression that are formed by intense muscle contraction (dynamic wrinkles). The effect of this substance is temporary and its effect lasts on average 4 to 6 months. This treatment is effective to manage the signs of aging mainly of the upper third of the face (forehead, between the eyebrows and crow’s feet), being placed on an outpatient basis in our office without requiring exams or preoperative preparation, it is less expensive than a surgery and does not it requires rest time after the procedure.
